After six years of enormous success together, Novak Djokovic and Goran Ivanisevic will no longer be working as a player-coach partnership. Ivanisevic joined Djokovic's camp in 2018 and is particularly credited with helping the 24-time Grand Slam winner to considerably develop his serve to be one of the best around as the Serb has gone on to conquer the men's game.

'I am in a negative cycle' - Djokovic 'not used' to barren spell after Indian Wells exit

Novak Djokovic has announced that he has split from coach Goran Ivanisevic after six hugely successful years working together.
The Croatian has been part of Djokovic’s team since 2018 and played an instrumental role in the Serb soaring to his current record-breaking tally of 24 Grand Slam singles titles in recent years.
Ivanisevic has been particularly credited with helping Djokovic to improve his serve quite considerably in that time frame, helping him to pull away from his rivals with consistent Grand Slam success.
Djokovic took to Instagram to announce the news and to pay tribute to Ivanisevic in a heartfelt post.
“I remember clearly the moment I invited Goran to be part of my team," Djokovic wrote.
"It was back in 2018, and Marian and I were looking to innovate and bring some serve magic to our duo.
“In fact, not only we brought serve, but also lots of laughter, fun, year end No. 1 rankings, record breaking achievements and 12 more Grand Slams (and a few finals) to the count since then.
"Did I mention a bit of drama too?
“Goran and I decided to stop working together a few days ago. Our on-court chemistry had its ups and downs, but our friendship was always rock solid.
“Thanks for everything my friend. Love you."
While he remains No. 1 in the world rankings, Djokovic has endured an indifferent start to 2024, including defeat in the semi-final of the Australian Open to Jannik Sinner and a shock second-round exit at Indian Wells to Luca Nardi.
The 36-year-old will now begin the clay-court season without Ivanisevic in his camp.
