Milos Raonic will be the man attempting to stop Andy Murray from reaching the world number one spot when they meet in the Paris semi-final on Saturday.
The Canadian beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-2 7-6(4) to advance in the BNP Paribas Masters.
The result also meant that Dominic Thiem grabbed the last place in the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals instead of Tsonga.
