Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal out of world's top four for first time since 2003

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are no longer inside the world's top four tennis players for the first time in 13 years.

The ATP's official rankings confirmed the pair - with 31 Grand Slam titles between them - have dropped out of the elite leading four positions due to injury and loss of form.
13 years of dominance.
Federer's decline was inevitable after he announced his withdrawl from the rest of the season due to a knee injury after his run to the Wimbledon semi-finals where he lost to Milos Raonic in July. He drops to seven in the latest list.

Nadal last claimed a Grand Slam event at the French Open two years ago, and is ranked at number five in the latest llst after losing to Grigor Dimitrov in the China Open quarter-finals in Beijing.
Novak Djokovic remains the undisputed number one, a position he has held since July 7 2014 with Andy Murray second after his China Open success with US Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka in third place and Kei Nishikori making up the top four.

Federer entered the top four in June 2003 after winning Wimbledon, the first of his 16 Grand Slam successes.
Nadal joined him inside the top four when he win the first of 14 majors on June 5 at the 2005 French Open at the age of 19.
