Day 12 saw the both women's semi-finals decided, with defending champion Justine Henin-Hardenne cruising to victory over compatriot Kim Clijsters, whilst Svetlana Kuznetsova booked her place in Saturday's final with a battling win over teen sensation Nico

Henin-Hardenne had it easy as she eased into the final with a 6-3 6-2 win over second seed Clijsters, who looked uncharacteristically out of sorts.
The Belgian - who has never lost a final at Roland Garros - capitalised to book a place in her third career French Open final.

Eighth seed Kuznetsova put in a gutsy display to come back from a set down against 17-year-old Czech Vaidisova, with the Russian taking the match 5-7 7-6 6-2 to end the hopes of her young opponent.
The result was tough on Vaidisova, but in the end it was Kuznetsova's experience - she had been disappointed for the last two years with losses to the eventual winners of the tournament - that won the day.
