It's Day 3 of the French Open at Roland-Garros and it's time for the likes of Daniil Medvedev, Elena Rybakina and Gael Monfils to play their first matches. Medvedev and Rybakina are heavy favourites today and contenders for their respective titles, but first they must get off the mark in the French capital on Monday. It was an enthralling second day of action at the 2023 French Open and Day 3 has just as much in store.
Daniil Medvedev, Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff and home favourite Gael Monfils are among those taking to the red dirt on Tuesday, with hopes of making a deep run at the second Grand Slam of the year.
Medvedev faces Brazil's Thiago Seyboth Wild on Court Philippe Chatrier, while Monfils is last on court up against Argentina's Sebastian Baez.
Elena Rybakina faces Belinda Fruhvirtova as the third match on Court Suzanne Lenglen, while for the Brits, they can turn their attention to Jamie Murray's doubles exploits on Court 5.
They will be seeking to join the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic and Caroline Garcia in the second round, having all registered wins on the tournament's second day.

Medvedev will be gunning for the world No. 1 spot and if he succeeds at the French Open, he would be well placed to usurp Carlos Alcaraz.

It will not be easy for the 27-year-old though, as he has just one Grand Slam - the US Open in 2021 - to his name, and he is yet to progress further than the quarter-finals at Roland-Garros.
Wins at the Miami Open and Italian Open this year demonstrate that he is bringing decent form to France, as well as victories in the Dubai Tennis Championships, Qatar Open and the Rotterdam Open.
Medvedev plays second on Court Philippe Chatrier.
Top women's match - Elena Rybakina v Belinda Fruhvirtova
Kazakhstani Grand Slam winner, Elena Rybakina, takes on Belinda Fruhvirtova as she looks to kick-start her tilt at the French Open.
The 23-year-old world No. 4 is the heavy favourite, but has yet to go past the quarter-final stages at Roland Garros.
A losing finalist at the Australian Open this year, she is one of the contenders to challenge Iga Swiatek this month.
She is due to play third on Court Suzanne Lenglen.

There were just three British competitors into the main draw at Roland-Garros - all men - and one of those left on Sunday as Dan Evans was defeated in straight sets by Thanasi Kokkinakis.
Cameron Norrie defeated Benoit Paire over five sets on Monday and his date against Lucas Pouille is yet to be finalised.
An injury for Jack Draper gave a walkover to Tomas Martin Etcheverry.
That means for UK fans, attention shifts to the doubles, where Jamie Murray teams up with New Zealander Michael Venus on Court 5 for a morning clash against Diego Hidalgo and David Vega Hernandez.
