There was a worrying moment for Jesper De Jong as he got his foot stuck on the court and tumbled over with a painful fall during his French Open first-round match against Jack Draper on Sunday. De Jong went on to defeat the Brit in five gruelling sets after an extended break in the match due to rain, but he counted himself fortunate to come through at all after taking the bad tumble.

'Wow, oh dear!' - De Jong trips and avoid nasty injury against Draper

There was huge relief at Roland-Garros on Sunday as Jesper De Jong emerged relatively unscathed following a nasty trip during his French Open victory over Britain's Jack Draper.
De Jong, who is a qualifier at the second Grand Slam of the season, came through the first-round encounter impressively to triumph 7-5 6-4 6-7(3) 3-6 6-3 against the Brit.
There had already been concerns raised by the two players regarding the grip on the court upon the resumption of their match after an extended delay due to rain before De Jong slipped.
The incident came with the Dutchman leading 2-0 and 40-15 in the fifth and deciding set as he was sent out wide on his forehand side by a blistering return from Draper.
As he stretched for the ball in a desperate bid to get it back in court, De Jong's feet appeared to simply get stuck in the red dirt and he took a painful tumble with a huge stain on the back of his shirt the least of his worries.
"Wow, oh dear!" exclaimed Barry Cowan, who was on Eurosport commentary at the time alongside Nick Lester.
"This could potentially be nasty. Oh, no! His foot just got stuck, and I don't know if that is a wet area of the court.
"You could see from his reaction... maybe it was more the hip. I thought initially it was more the ankle."
Lester added: "He is okay - wow, goodness me!"

'A stunning finish' - De Jong downs Draper in five sets as Brit crashes out

Fortunately, De Jong was able to continue, and he went on to clinch a fine victory over Draper to secure his place in the second round at Roland-Garros.
His reward? A daunting clash with Carlos Alcaraz, who overcame JJ Wolf in his opening encounter earlier in the day.
