Daniil Medvedev has discussed his chances of winning another title this season following his loss to Jannik Sinner in the China Open final. The world No. 3 will next play at the Shanghai Masters as he aims to finally break his streak of losing at events he has won in the past, having earned his 20 ATP titles at 20 different tournaments. Medvedev will be the second seed in Shanghai.

Daniil Medvedev has set out his ambitions for the remainder of the season after losing the China Open final to Jannik Sinner.
The 27-year-old had won his previous six encounters against Sinner, but was finally defeated this week 7-6(2) 7-6(2).
It was a close encounter at the National Tennis Centre in Beijing, with Sinner’s superior performance in the tie-breaks making the difference.
It was the Italian’s ninth career ATP title, and the third of the season.
Meanwhile, Medvedev is searching for his sixth ATP title of the year, following wins in Rotterdam, Qatar, Dubai, Miami and Rome, and he’s not giving up yet. The Russian will next play as the second seed at the Shanghai Masters, starting his campaign against Cristian Garin on Saturday.
“I think everyone is a little tired,” Medvedev said following his loss to Sinner. “We are at the end of the season.
“At the same time, I know for sure that when I am in this form, reaching the finals and playing well, it is better not to lose this momentum.
“I will go to Shanghai and I will try to do my best. I think the balls are different, I don't know if the courts will be different, but I will need time to adapt. I haven't seen the draw yet.”
Medvedev, the current world No. 3, did not appear too disheartened by his defeat to Sinner.
“I'm in good shape,” he continued. “Even today I felt that the match was very good, that there was a great level of tennis. I had to do better if I wanted to win, but it was a great level.
“I want to continue playing well this season. It’s not over yet, there are a lot of points I can add. Now it's time to go to Shanghai, give my best and hopefully win the title.”
Medvedev has a unique streak to his name, having won his 20 ATP titles at 20 different tournaments.
He has already won his remaining four events of the season – the Shanghai Masters, Vienna Open, Paris Masters and ATP Finals – so could well bring this record to an end soon.
“I hope that I can break that streak because I have four tournaments left to play this year and I have already won all four,” Medvedev said. “I trust that I can break that streak and win one of them.”
His task will be made difficult at the Shanghai Masters, with world No. 2 and reigning Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz determined to make amends after losing in the China Open semi-finals to Sinner.
Holger Rune, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev are among the other big names at the tournament.
