Roger Federer is 2-1 down in his US Open second-round clash against Mikhail Youzhny.
The 19-time Grand Slam champion has never lost at this stage in New York, but he is now a set away from a shock exit as he trails 1-6 7-6(3) 6-4..
Federer had taken a set lead after just 27 minutes, but he went on to lose the second on a tie-break after failing to serve out for the set at 5-4.
Youzhny carried on that momentum into the third set, breaking Federer in the fifth game before seeing out the remainder unscathed.
