Day 7 at the US Open 2023 promises to be an unmissable event as Novak Djokovic takes on Croatian qualifier Borna Gojo. Iga Swiatek will look to finally beat Jelena Ostapenko in her fourth attempt, and Coco Gauff and Caroline Wozniacki meet. There is plenty of home interest, too, as compatriots Tommy Paul and Ben Shelton go head-to-head, while Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz also feature.

Highlights: Jabeur, Medvedev and Sinner progress on action-packed Saturday at US Open

Novak Djokovic is eyeing a place in the quarter-finals of the US Open after surviving a scare against Laslo Djere last time out.
It had been relatively plain sailing for the 23-time Grand Slam winner in New York until he met his compatriot Djere in the third round. Djokovic had to dig deep to come from two sets down to beat the world No. 38 and progress in the tournament.
Djokovic will be hoping Day 7 at Flushing Meadows will be a more straightforward affair when he faces Croatian qualifier Borna Gojo.
Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek faces a stern test when the Polish star comes up against Jelena Ostapenko, an opponent whom she has never defeated in three attempts. Coco Gauff and Caroline Wozniacki also prepare to do battle in an intriguing day.
American hopefuls Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz face Rinky Hijikata and Dominic Stricker respectively, while one of Tommy Paul and Ben Shelton will seal their place in the last eight when they go head-to-head on Arthur Ashe.

Top women's match - Iga Swiatek [1] v Jelena Ostapenko [20]

You have to go back to February 2021 when these two last met. Ostapenko got the better of Swiatek 4-6 6-1 7-6(4) in the second round of Dubai and would proceed to win the event.
The defeat was Swiatek's last before she embarked on a record-breaking 37-match winning streak, shooting her to world No. 1, a position she has held since.
In that time, Swiatek has gone on to win two French Open titles and is the reigning US Open champion.
She is heavy favourite to finally get the better of the Latvian and comes into the match full of confidence after thrashing "best friend" Kaja Juvan in a straight sets 6-0 6-1 in the third round. Ostapenko, meanwhile, needed three sets to overcome Jasmine Paolini, Elina Avanesyan and Bernarda Pera.
So, while Ostapenko has history on her side, Swiatek has the momentum.

Top men's match - Borna Gojo v Novak Djokovic [2]

Djokovic may not be as fresh for this contest as he would have hoped after a three hour, 45-minute epic contest with Djere.
Nevertheless, he has reached the fourth round at the US Open for the 15th straight time and will be confident of improving on his 41-5 win-loss record in 2023.
Gojo - who is making his Flushing Meadows debut - is ranked 105th in the tour and has reached the fourth round at a Grand Slam for the first time. He has already recorded surprise and morale-boosting wins over Felix Auger-Aliassime and Mackenzie McDonald without dropping a set.
Gojo has earned the right to play in his biggest match of his career and he may well be relishing the prospect of taking his biggest scalp.
