Heather Watson beat Barbora Strýcová in three sets to advance to the semi-finals in Eastbourne.

In a topsy-turvy match the Briton took the first set 6-1, only to lose the second by the same score. However, she battled back to clinch the decider 6-4.

Earlier in the day she had beaten Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-4 6-3 and will now face Caroline Wozniacki for a place in the final.

It is her first WTA semi-final since winning the Monterrey Open last year.

It sets up the prospect of an all-British final after Jo Konta beat world No 1 Angelique Kerber in her quarter-final on the other side of the draw. She will now face Karolina Pliskova.
