Jo Konta beat world No 1 Angelique Kerber to reach the semi-finals at Eastbourne.
The British No 1 looked in complete control from the outset and raced into a 3-0 lead, before taking the first set 6-3. Although her German opponent fought back in the second set, Konta ended up winning it 6-4 to set up a match with Karolina Pliskova.
She had one match point in the second set but then took a nasty fall on the grass, which resulted in a five-minute time out when the trainer was called.
Visibly distressed, Konta appeared at risk of having to default the match on the brink of the semi-finals, but following a stoppage of almost 10 minutes, Konta then recovered, earned a fourth match point, and broke Kerber to secure a 6-3 6-4 victory continuing her promising form in the build-up to Wimbledon.
In her impressive defeat of Kerber, a two-time Grand Slam champion, she dominated the 29-year-old's serve before her slip, after which the German helped her before medical staff arrived.
Next week she will compete as the first British woman ranked in the world's top 10 at Wimbledon since 1984, and on Thursday she repeatedly demonstrated why, having already beat French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko earlier in the day.
Konta will next meet Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic on Friday.
Round-up
Karolina Pliskova overcame Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova after going a set down with a 6-7 6-2 6-4 victory.
Also coming back from a set down, Caroline Wozniacki saw off competition from world no.2 Simona Halep by 5-7 6-4 6-1.
Konta's compatriot Heather Watson also enjoyed victory in Eastbourne after initially taking the lead then dropping the second set. She beat Barbora Strycova 6-1 1-6 6-4.
