British number one Johanna Konta has withdrawn from Eastbourne due to a thoracic spine injury.
Konta had been due to play Karolina Pliskova on Friday in the Aegon International semi-finals, but has dropped out of the competition to receive treatment.
The injury comes four days before the start of Wimbledon, where Konta will be making a bid for a first Grand Slam title of her career.
"Obviously there is Wimbledon coming up next week," Konta said. "But I made this decision based on my health."
Konta beat the world’s top ranked player – Germany’s Angelique Kerber – on Thursday to continue her strong showing on grass, but suffered a nasty fall during the contest.
The British star struck her head heavily in the incident and was left in tears during the five-minute break in play that followed.
