Emma Raducanu's participation at Indian Wells in California is in doubt. The British No. 1, who has only recently recovered from a bout of tonsillitis, says a problem with her wrist that she suffered last year has begun "to flare up" again. Raducanu had strapping on both of her wrists on the practice court and Wednesday. Raducanu's first round match is on the 16,000-capacity Stadium 1 on Thursday.

Emma Raducanu hopes to be able to play at Indian Wells, but says her wrist problem from last year has returned.
Raducanu's 2022 season finished early due to the injury which saw her miss the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Glasgow last November.
On Tuesday, the 20-year-old pulled out of a charity exhibition event - the Eisenhower Cup - due to the issue to her right wrist and she did not practice on Tuesday.
Raducanu was seen on the practice courts in California alongside her coach Sebastien Sachs on Wednesday with strapping on both of her wrists.
The British No. 1, who has been drawn against Danka Kovinic in the first round of Indian Wells on Thursday, hopes she will be able to compete at this year's competition.
"The same issue that I had last year has started to flare back up," she said.
"I've definitely been managing my load. It's something that has just come back, so I'm trying to be as cautious as possible.
"I'm going to do everything I can to be there tomorrow.
"I think we always play through pain and it's just a matter of how much can you take - I'm looking forward to hopefully being out there tomorrow."
The injury adds to Raducanu's disrupted start to the 2023 campaign having played just four competitive matches.
Raducanu was forced to withdraw from the ATX Open in Austin, Texas, last week due to a bout of tonsillitis.
The Brit said the illness has also been disruptive to her preparation for Indian Wells.
She said: "It affected me bad for the short term so I haven't prepared much. I've probably never felt so sick in my life.
"When it rains, it pours. This and the infection - it's obviously a challenge.
"My preparation hasn't been ideal. I played on the weekend and then I rested it - it's how you manage things when you aren't prepared."
