One week after capturing a title in Stanford, Lindsay Davenport continued her hard court domination in Los Angeles defeating Top seed Serena Williams 6-1 6-3.

It's the fourth time Davenport has won the L.A. title and first time since 2000 she's defeated Serena in a WTA Tour event.
Davenport cruised through the first set, dropping just one game en route.
Williams kept up with Davenport in the second set, until Davenport broke Williams in the eighth game of the second set to go up 5-3.
With Williams holding the advantage and Davenport serving in the ninth game of the second set, the point of the match saw both players racing around the court trading shots.
Davenport finally pounded a cross-court forehand that Williams could only hit back into the net.
An exhausted Williams fell into a split position after the point, exhaling as she had failed to break Davenport yet again.
The point made it deuce, and just two points later, Davenport had successfully defended her title at this event.
Williams delivered on 71 percent of her first serves, compared to just 51 percent for Davenport. But the difference in the match proved to be Davenport converting on four of six break points, while Williams was unable to break through on any of her six break point chances. Williams also committed 29 unforced errors, compared to just 12 for Davenport.
Davenport and Williams are both scheduled to play next week in San Diego.
