On Wednesday, Andreescu updated her followers on social media about her injury, confirming that she had torn ligaments in her left ankle.

'I don't think I've ever played a game like this' - Andreescu after win over Raducanu

Bianca Andreescu has revealed she has torn two ligaments in her ankle after suffering a nasty fall which saw her withdraw from the Miami Open.
Andreescu retired from her round of 16 match against Ekaterina Alexandrova on Monday after collapsing to the ground in pain when she was leading 2-0 in the second set, having lost the first.
The world No. 31, who won the US Open title in 2019, had to be taken off the court in a wheelchair. She was embraced afterwards by her opponent and given a warm round of applause by the crowd.
Hours after Andreescu had departed the court in tears, the 22-year-old wrote a message updating her fans on social media.
"Woke up with a brace on my foot… anyone know what happened?"
"On a serious note, though… that was the worst pain I’ve ever felt… praying for nothing serious.
"Still waiting on official results. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and kind words, doesn’t go unnoticed."
On Wednesday, Andreescu confirmed what her injury was, but admits she is not sure on the timescale of her injury.
"Results show that I've torn two ligaments in my left ankle," she wrote.
"It's tough to say exactly how long it will take, but let's just say it could've been much worse!! I'm going to take it day by day, and I am optimistic that with the right work, rehab, and preparation, I'll be back on court soon.
"Rehab process has already started and will continue to give updates. Love you all"
It is the third time in Andreescu's career that she has been forced off from a match due to suffering a bad injury. The Canadian has endured an injury-disrupted time on tour in the last three years and is now a major doubt for the French Open which gets underway in May.
