Emma Raducanu will play in the Nottingham Open as she prepares to return to Wimbledon for the first time in two years. The former US Open champion missed last year's grass-court Grand Slam after surgery on both her wrists and an ankle, and she has decided to skip the French Open and the rest of the clay-court swing to fully focus on her home Slam.

'It’s going to take time’ – Raducanu ‘feels good’ but stresses need for patience

Emma Raducanu will play in the Nottingham Open in June ahead of this summer’s Wimbledon.
The Briton, who rose to prominence by winning the US Open as a qualifier in 2021, pulled out of the upcoming French Open in order to direct her full attentions to this year’s grass-court swing.
Raducanu missed the 2023 grass season after surgery on both her wrists and an ankle.
Her last performance at Wimbledon came in 2022, when she lost in the second round to Caroline Garcia 6-3 6-3, with the Brit being the no. 10 seed at the tournament.
Raducanu, now the world No. 212, has played at Nottingham two times, losing to Harriet Dart, her fellow Briton, in 2021, before withdrawing in the first round the following year with injury, seven games into her opening match against Viktorija Golubic.
The 21-year-old has had a stop-start season so far - she was knocked out in the second round of the Australian Open by Wang Yafan, and she reached the third round of Indian Wells before being dominated by Aryna Sabalenka.
She last played in the first round of the Madrid Masters, but she lost in straight sets to the Argentine Maria Lourdes Carle.

Katie Boulter, the current British no. 1, won her maiden WTA Tour title at the event last year, and she will return to defend her trophy next month.
Other contenders include Ons Jabeur, the Tunisian world No. 9, who reached the Wimbledon final last year, but lost out to Marketa Vondrousova.
Barbora Krejcikova, the 2021 Roland-Garros champion, and American Sofia Kenin, the 2020 Australian Open winner, are also among the entrants.
