The 2011 Cruze to continue tests in Barcelona as from tomorrow. Development and testing work on the new Cruze 1.6 turbo continues in these first weeks of 2011.
There has been a very short Christmas and New Year break at the RML factory and more importantly, the fine-tuning program of the new Cruze and the new 1.6 turbo petrol engine is going ahead with no hiccups and achieving the expected results.
After two days of testing in Valencia last week, with Rob Huff and Alain Menu, the WTCC Champion team is heading to Barcelona, where tomorrow and Friday, another two-day testing session is scheduled and will be attended also by other WTCC competitors.
Yvan Muller and Rob Huff will drive the two Cruzes, which will exceptionally sport a blank livery, while Chevrolet’s design team is finalizing what will be the 2011 livery of the Cruze.
An artist rendition of the new “dress” is being revealed today. Created by Belgian designer Jean-Paul Vanuf, from the Antracyt design firm, the new livery builds up on the design of last year’s livery but is refreshed with more modern and dynamic touches, further enhancing the striking styling of the Cruze. In addition, some of the livery elements have been modified, in particular the driver flag which has been moved to the roof, allowing the hood to recover the blue background consistent throughout the car as well as Chevrolet’s iconic bow-tie logo.
