Britain Land Curling Gold at Lake Placid

Saturday was a golden day for Great Britain at the 2023 FISU Winter World University Games, as the men landed gold in the curling, defeating the USA 5-1 in a one-sided final at the Saranac Lake Civic Centre.

Meanwhile, the women played out a thrilling final as China fought back from 4-1 down to defeat South Korea 6-4.
Earlier in the day, two-time Olympian Jan Zabystran sealed gold in the men's slalom, his third gold of the games to add to his super-G and giant slalom wins.
And on the track, there was double gold for South Korea's Choi Min-jeong as she landed victory in the women's 1000m before helping her county land gold in the women's 3,000m relay, sealing Min-jeong's fourth gold of the games.
It's been a week of South Korean dominance at the speed skating oval, with Jang Sung-woo winning the men's 1000m and before the Koreans landed the men's 5,000m relay gold.
At Mount van Hoevenberg, there was European success in the men's and women's biathlon mass start as France's Axel Garnier and Kristyna Otcovska of the Czech Republic landed gold, both negotiating slow starts to power home for glory.
Snowboarding saw Ukraine seal their first gold of the games thanks to Mykhailo Kharuk's victory in the men's parallel giant slalom, with Italy's Elisa Fava sealing gold in the women's parallel giant slalom.
And Saturday's action ended with a dominant display by Canada in the women's ice hockey final as they defeated Japan 5-0.
Sunday is the final day of the games and sees competitors going for gold in cross-country skiing with the men's and women's mass starts, snowboarding with the men's and women's parallel slalom, and the final of the men's ice hockey as Canada and USA bring the games to an end.
Following the men's ice hockey final, the closing ceremony will take place at the Olympic Center.
