India continue to hit the target at the FISU World University Games

Day three of the FISU World University Games saw further success for India in shooting.

The 10m Air Rifle for men saw India claim the team gold and an individual triumph for Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar. Ten golds have been handed out in the shooting over the first three days, with India taking six of them!
Yujin Kim and Sangryeol Lee continued the gold rush for South Korea, winning the Women’s 57kg and Men’s 68kg Taekwondo respectively. Mingi Seo and Misun Choi hit the target in archery to make it 13 golds for South Korea to maintain second place in the medal standings.
The hosts China continue to lead the way in the medal table. The first two diving golds were on offer at the Jianyan Cultural and Sports Centre Natatorium, with China taking both.
Chaohui Liang and Bowen Huang won the Men’s Synchronised 3m springboard, while Minjie Zhang and Jiaqi Zhang picked up the Women’s Synchronised 10m Platform.
Further gold medals for China came in the Rhythmic Gymnastics - Group 5 hoops and in the Women’s Judo +78kg class, courtesy of Chundi Jia.
Elsewhere in gymnastics, Ukraine’s Khrystyna Pohranychna won gold in both the Individual Ribbon and Individual Hoop. Further gymnastic success for Europe saw Fanni Pigniczki win the Individual Ball for Hungary, and Tatyana Volozhanina saw success in the Individual Clubs for Bulgaria.
Day four on Tuesday will see the start of the Athletics action at the Shuangliu Sports Centre Stadium. The Men’s and Women’s 100m competitions start with two golds up for grabs in the Women’s shot put and Women’s 10,000m.
Four golds will be handed out on the first day at the pool - the action at the Dong’An Lake Sports Park Aquatic Centre will be hotly contested, as will the start of the tennis at Sichuan International Tennis Centre.
In total, there will be 19 gold medals handed out during Tuesday’s action as the calendar flips over to August with 14 different sports on a packed day at the 31st Summer FISU World University Games.
