Dokturishivili wins gold

Alexandr Dokturishivili won the Olympic Greco-Roman 74kg gold medal on Thursday after beating Marko Yli-Hannuksela of Finland 4-1. The bearded Uzbek took an early lead in the bout and continued to dominate throughout, eventually increasing his lead after

As the clock ticked away the Uzbek repelled the efforts of Yli-Hannuksela to try and level the scores. With the result clear and just a few seconds remaining, Dokturishivili jumped up and raised his arms in delight.

Russian Varteres Samourgachev earlier took the bronze medal after scoring an easy 10-0 victory over Reto Bucher of Switzerland.
