Astros 6, Royals 1
Rookie right-hander Lance McCullers capped a stellar month with seven strong innings and the Houston Astros defeated the Kansas City Royals.
McCullers (4-2) allowed a solo home run to Royals catcher Salvador Perez in the seventh for his only blemish, and capped closed June with a 2.11 ERA.
Jose Altuve and Chris Carter clubbed home runs for the Astros (45-34) who are on top of the American League West.
The Royals, atop the AL Central, fell to 44-29.

Rangers 8, Orioles 1
Texas first baseman Mitch Moreland hit two of his team's four home runs and the Rangers cooled down the Baltimore Orioles.
Catcher Carlos Corporan and right fielder Shin-Soo Choo also went deep for Texas, which tied a season high for homers in a game. The Rangers (39-38) snapped Baltimore's (41-35) four-game winning streak.
Staked with an early lead, Wandy Rodriguez (5-3) kept the Orioles lineup off-balance for most of his outing. The left-hander allowed one run on eight hits with two walks and seven strikeouts over five-plus innings.

Red Sox 3, Blue Jays 1
Clay Buchholz pitched eight strong innings and shortstop Xander Bogaerts drove in two runs as the Boston Red Sox defeated the Toronto Blue Jays.
Buchholz (6-6) allowed five hits, no walks and one run while striking out five to earn his fourth win in a row over six starts.
The Red Sox (35-43) built a 3-0 lead against Dickey with two runs in the third and another in the fifth.
The Blue Jays (41-37) scored a run in the sixth to cut the lead to 3-1.

Indians 7, Rays 1
Cleveland rookie right-hander Cody Anderson took a perfect game into the seventh inning, and the Indians beat the Tampa Bay Rays.
Anderson (1-0) earned his first Major League victory by throwing eight innings of two-hit, one-run ball.
Cleveland (34-41) ended a three-game losing streak, while Tampa Bay (42-36) lost for the fourth time in five games.

Brewers 7, Phillies 4
In a clash of the two teams with the worst records in the Major Leagues, the Milwaukee Brewers beat Philadelphia.
Jonathan Lucroy led the Milwaukee (30-48) surge, going 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs.
The Phillies (27-51) scored early but went silent to slip 24 games below .500, tying their season-worst mark.

Reds 11, Twins 7
Billy Hamilton reached base four times, recorded four steals to reach 40 for the season, and scored three times, sparking the Cincinnati Reds to a victory over the Minnesota Twins.
Second baseman Brian Dozier homered for Minnesota (40-36), which trailed 9-1 after three innings but scored six times in the fourth to get within two.
Catcher Tucker Barnhart had a career-high four hits and two RBIs for Cincinnati (35-40) to snap a three-game losing streak.
