Humphries continues World Cup dominance in Altenberg

Reigning Olympic champion Kaillie Humphries clinched her second victory of the season on Friday, extending her lead at the top of the IBSF World Cup standings.
The Canadian and her brakewoman Melissa Lotholz finished 0.7 seconds ahead of American duo Elana Meyers Taylor and Kehri Jones, crossing the Altenberg line in a time of 1:54.15.
Christina Hengster and Sanne Dekker of Austria finished third, 0.78 seconds slower than the Canadians.
They just edged out An Vannieuwenhuyse and Sara Aerts for the bronze medal, with the Belgian pair missing out on their first World Cup podium finish by just two tenths of a second, having placed third after the first run.
Humphries continued to lead the overall standings on 650 points, with Jamie Greubel Poser of the USA in second on 609, ahead of Hengster in third.
