FIA European Rally Championship ace Alexey Lukyanuk has stormed into the lead of Barum Czech Rally Zlín past the local expert Jan Kopecký.
Rapid Russian Lukyanuk scored his second stage win in a row and third of the rally on the repeat of the Hošťálková stage, outpacing four-time event winner Kopecký by 3.3 seconds over the 13.75 kilometres.
He moves into a lead of 1.2s going into the final stage of the day, the repeat of the Semetin test he won earlier on, which begins at 19h42.
"I was almost flat out," said Kopecký. "Before I was not sure, but now I know: he is crazy!"
Elsewhere, a difficult day for Polish champion Łukasz Habaj continued with broken power steering.
