Co-driven by Eric Borguet, the Belgian motorsport federation's RACB National Team driver recently won the Junior and 2WD categories, and finished fifth overall, on the famous Spa Rally – which was ideal Tarmac preparation on his Peugeot Belgium Luxembourg 208 R2.
“Spa was the first time I’d driven on Tarmac since the Tour de Corse last November, so it was important to find back the confidence and our pace in this surface,” said Bux. “The event went well, even if we took no big risks and really wanted to do all the kilometres of this beautiful rally. It was better than excepted and we had a great battle with my very fast team-mate Cedric De Cecco, who won the R2 Belgian Championship several times. He was a very good reference for us.
“Now, we are fully focused on the great Circuit of Ireland. I started my racing career there last year, and it will be the first rally I'll do for a second time in my life. I have done a little more than ten rallies until now, so my experience is still limited but it's growing everyday. I'm sure that the experience of last year will pay for this event and I'm really excited to be back in Belfast and drive again on those awesome roads.
“The level of the ERC Junior is really impressive this year, and it will be great to see where we are on Tarmac compared to the other drivers. Our aim is to be as fast as possible and being in the front group, even if it's hard to have a precise goal about our final position. We'll do our best and do everything possible to make Peugeot Belgium-Luxembourg, RACB National Team and DG Sport Competition proud of us.”
