The 22-year old fromKongsvinger, who finished second in ERC Juniors and eighth overall on Rally Liepāja, won his class on the Numedalsrally – a round of the Norwegian Rally Championship.
Co-driven by James Aldridge, Røkland’s win was confirmed when arch rival Ole Christian Veiby (Citroën DS3 R3T) went off into a snow bank on the final stage.
“I am very satisfied with my performance, because the speed was high and the margins small,” said Røkland. “I have had a trouble-free event, driving in the middle of the road and without any close calls at all, so I am very happy about that. I am looking forward to driving the Peugeot on the black stuff in Ireland. I had agoon Tarmac with the car last year and I was fastest overall on a couple of stages competing againstexcellent drivers with both two- and four-wheel drive, so we will see.”
