Jari Huttunen’s FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship rivals be warned: the rising Finnish star can’t stop winning.
After claiming a class triumph on the Finnish championship-counting SM Vaakuna Ralli last month, Huttunen topped the 2WD section of the ADAC Saarland-Pfalz Rallye in Germany at the weekend to maintain his 100 per cent-winning start to 2017.
Huttunen will drive an ADAC Opel Rallye Junior Team ADAM R2 in ERC Junior U27 starting with the Azores Airlines Rallye later this month. The eventual champion gets 100,000 euros to put towards an ERC Junior U28 assault in 2018.
Meanwhile, Prince Albert von Thurn und Taxis – who will contest the ERC1 category in 2017 in a ŠKODA Fabia R5 – was also competing on ADAC Saarland-Pfalz Rallye. The Rome-based German finished sixth overall alongside co-driver Bjorn Degandt.
