Kajetan Kajetanowicz thanked the Polish fans after moving to the top of the FIA European Rally Championship standings with second place on Rally Rzeszow.
The LOTOS Rally Team star is now 13 points ahead of Bruno Magalhães having trailed the Portuguese by 14 points prior to the challenging Tarmac rally in the southeast of his homeland.
“We are leading the European championship so our mission is accomplished,” Kajetanowicz said. “Maybe I should be angry that I didn’t win because this is my country but I am happy. To be leading the European championship was my main target and it was hurting my head that I wasn’t.
“The fans and my team have been amazing and thanks so much to all fans. They gave us a lot of positive energy. I know that it is not easy to be a fan, because I was a fan too some time ago and I know that it is very hard to spend so much time in the sun and in the hurry to be everywhere after competitors.”
