Bruno Magalhães has described his unlikely pursuit of the FIA European Rally Championship as “amazing”.
Magalhães will start next month’s season-closing Rally Liepāja still in contention for the coveted crown despite originally entering the opening ERC round in the Azores as a one-off.
But after winning his home event in early April, Magalhães has managed to contest a full roster of rallies thanks to the support of several loyal partners, including main sponsor SEAJETS.
“We are a very small team and in the last years I didn’t make so many rallies,” said the Portuguese. “What is happening to my team is amazing. We are going to try to make the next step. Our chances are not so big but if I go to Latvia to congratulate the champion then of course I am happy. If I win I am much happier for sure.”
Ahead of the trip to Latvia from 6-8 October, Magalhães is 24 points behind defending champion Kajetan Kajetanowicz prior to dropped scores being taken into account.
