Jari Huttunen is targeting his fifth consecutive class win – and his second in FIA ERC Junior Under 27 – when he makes his Barum Czech Rally Zlín debut this week.
The ADAC Opel Rallye Junior Team driver moved into second place in the ERC Junior U27 standings with victory on Rally Rzeszow at the start of August to close to within eight points of team-mate and title pacesetter Chris Ingram. And there was more success at the weekend when he win the RC4 division on Germany’s round of the world championship.

“Winning the last ERC Junior round in Rzeszów as well as the R2 class at the ADAC Rallye Deutschland last weekend has given us an extra motivation to take on our strong competitors in the ERC Juniors again,” said Finn Huttunen. “The Tarmac stages in Germany, especially on the last day, looked at least similar to what we expect in Zlín so I hope we will be well prepared for this challenging event which we are extremely looking forward to. The ADAM R2 has proved to be the benchmark in the R2 class so it will be on us to deliver."

Of his title prospects, which carry a 100,000 euros career progression fund for a 2018 ERC Junior Under 28 assault, Huttunen added: "We simply need more victories to be able to fight for the title. So that’s the goal for Zlín.”
