Kris Princen has labelled his second-place finish on the Kenotek Ypres Rally against such tough opposition on the FIA European Rally Championship classic as 'spectacular'.
Driving a Peugeot Belgium Luxembourg-entered 208 T16 run by DG Sport Compétition, Princen finished behind only the 11-time event winner Freddy Loix.
"As all sportspersons I would have preferred being on the top rung of the podium, but against such opposition – Belgian and foreign – at such a level, makes a silver medal a pretty spectacular result!" he said.
"I would like to emphasise how this 2016 edition of the Ypres Rally turned out to be quite so tricky: even with dry weather, the numerous areas of mud and deep water puddles were formidable traps."
