Barnsley will hand club bans to the fans who were involved in the pitch incursion at Oakwell during Saturday's friendly against Huddersfield.
One supporter ran on to the pitch early in the second half of the Reds' 2-1 win, while several others are understood to have assisted him.
A club statement read: "On Saturday during the club's pre-season friendly with Huddersfield Town at Oakwell, an individual entered the playing area approximately 10 minutes into the second half.
"This individual was apprehended by club stewards and was handed to South Yorkshire Police for arrest.
"The club's security team have subsequently analysed CCTV footage from Saturday and several individuals who we believe assisted in the pitch incursion have been identified.
"All individuals in question will face a club ban - for what could be up to five years - and will also be unable to buy tickets via the club box office for any away fixture.
"The club will also ensure that the names of any individual who receives a ban from Oakwell will also be circulated to all Football League clubs and the relevant Police Forces to refuse entry at away games."
