Safri close to exit

The Morocco international missed the shoot and was then left out of the Canaries' squad for a pre-season friendly against West Ham.

Safri has been linked to a move elsewhere for some time, but his conduct amid the speculation has left Norwich coach Peter Grant at the end of his tether.

Grant told the club's official website: "He will be fined his wages and we will see where it goes from there. It's up to him now whether he wants to be here.

"I want people who are committed here. I've hid behind it for a long time, so many things have been going on. If you don't want to be here, it makes my decision easy."

Asked whether Safri would play for Norwich again, Grant added: "Hopefully not."
