Home teams take a battering in the Copa del Rey as Eibar and Celta Vigo win big

It was a good night for visitor's in the first leg of the Copa del Rey round of 16 on Tuesday as Eibar, Celta Vigo took victory over their hosts, while Deportivo la Coruna overturned a 2-0 lead by Alaves to draw.

Eibar looked set to dominate from the opening moments of the match as Bebe's right-footed strike was saved by Osasuna keeper Mario Fernandez.
Adrian and Ruben Penar followed with misses, but Eibar's efforts were rewarded with a 28th minute goal by Nano, making use of a cross from Antonio Luna, and the first half finished 1-0 to Eibar despite the decent chances for both, that followed.
Bottom of La Liga, Osasuna came back a little stronger in the second half, putting more pressure on eighth-place Eibar, but it was Bebe with the second goal for the visitors in the 75th minute. Adrian followed in the dying moments of the game to secure a 3-0 victory for Eibar.
Celta Vigo outclassed Valencia at home on Monday night, who were without no.1 keeper Diego Alves. Celta Vigo scored in the third minute after Javi Jimenez conceded an early penalty which was converted by Iago Aspas. Just 11 minutes later they doubled their lead after Aspas crossed to Belgium under-21s Theo Bongonda who struck in the bottom left corner.
Celta Vigo scored again five minutes later as previous goal scorer Bongonda provided the assist to Daniel Wass.
In the second half, a penalty was awarded against Sergio Alvarez for a bad foul, which Valencia converted thanks to Daniel Parejo. Alvaro Medran was close to closing the gap further between the home side and their guests, but just missed the top right corner.
In the 75th minute Bongonda made his presence known again as he provided the assist to John Guidetti from a tricky angle left of the goal. Despite pretty closely matched possession, it was Celta Vigo who made it count on the night.
Alaves took an early lead against home side Deportivo la Coruna after Christian Santos made the most of Zouhair Feddal's assist in the third minute.
Deportivo dominated play and took the lion's share of the chances in the remainder of the first half, but Alaves scored again after Pedro Mosquera conceded a penalty, which was converted by Edgar Mendez.
Bruno Gama managed to claw one back for the home side in the 73rd minute with a shot from the right, assisted by Juanfran. As it looked like Alaves would also overcome their hosts, Joselu headed in a goal from close range in the 93rd minute to overturn the 2-0 deficit and draw.
