French filly Treve proved unable to rewrite racing history as Frankie Dettori rode Golden Horn to victory in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp.

Treve was going for a third successive win in the race but had to settle for fourth place as Flintshire finished second, as he was last year, with New Bay third.
The John Gosden-trained Golden Horn had already enjoyed a great season with victories in the Epsom Derby, Dante Stakes and Coral-Eclipse - and bounced back from a shock defeat in the Juddmonte International to claim the Irish Champion Stakes.
The money earned for those victories meant the 120,000 euros (£88,600) owner Anthony Oppenheimer spent to add horse to the field for the world's richest turf race was a relatively small price to pay.
Dettori raised eyebrows in the early stages of the race by pulling Golden Horn wide before slotting in behind the leader.
Golden Horn had shadowed Treve's pacemaker Shahah more closely than any of the other 15 runners and were well positioned before moving clear in the straight as a clear gap opened up.
Treve was among the chasing pack but was wide and closing fast, but did not have the momentum to threaten the winner and had to be content with fourth behind Flintshire and New Bay. Free Eagle finished fourth with Erupt in fifth.
Speaking after winning what is now his fourth win in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, Dettori said: "I really believed in this horse and he put it to bed like a superstar.
"It was an amazing performance. I scratched my head all week about what to do, but I knew I was on the best horse so I wanted to make use of him and show the world just how good he really is.
"He's probably the best horse I've ridden."
Gosden, winning the €5 million race for the first time, said: "It's great to win the Arc in France, just as it is great to win the Derby in England.
"Frankie has given him a great ride - he rides this track quite beautifully."
Golden Horn will head for stallion duties next season but could have one more run this season at the Breeders' Cup in Keeneland, Kentucky on 30 and 31 October.
