McGaughey hopes 'real' Orb turns up

Trainer Shug McGaughey has said he hopes the real Orb shows up for the Belmont Stakes.

The Kentucky Derby winner disappointed on May 18 at the Preakness Stakes, leaving McGaughey to claim it "just wasn’t his day”.

But his horse has been in New York for three weeks, which has helped him mentally and familiarised him with the gallop.

McGaughey said: “Next Saturday, I think you’ll see a different horse.”
