His status was said to be day-to-day.
"I don't know exactly what it is, I have to see with the doctors what it is and how long I've got. All I can say is that it's not my groin," said the 41-year old Ottawa Senators goalie who has a history of groin problems.
"I don't really have an explanation for what happened," added Hasek who fell awkwardly while making a save.
The AP reports that Hasek hurt his hamstring and was to undergo an MRI.
"My goal is to play again, but if I don't feel like I am helping the team, I won't," Hasek said.
Note that his replacement, Nashville Predators netminder Tomas Vokoun fared solidly, even getting an assist on the Czech Republic's first goal.
"A goalkeeper has to be ready all the time," said a serene Vokoun, who stopped 20 of 21 shots.
