Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin has won the first ATP title of his ten-year career with a 7-6 7-6 win over American Sam Querrey in the Nottingham Open final.
After losing his two previous finals, at San Jose and New Haven, Istomin has become the first Uzbek to win an ATP tournament after dominating Querrey.
The 28-year-old, ranked 92nd in the world, was the outsider going into the final but deserved his win, having led 5-2 in the second set.
His nerves were severely tested after two breaks of serve brought Querrey back to 5-5, but Istomin held on to clinch the tie-break 8-6.
