Swiss star Marco Odermatt continued his remarkable unbeaten streak in the giant slalon, securing his eighth straight World Cup win in Aspen. It was a victory that earned Odermatt a third GS Crystal Globe in a row. The 26-year-old wasn't at his best but still did enough to take the top step of the podium by 0.14 seconds from compatriot Loic Meillard in second, with Atle Lie McGrath taking third.

‘He does it the hard way!’ - Odermatt emerges victorious despite error-ridden display

Marco Odermatt made it eight wins from eight in giant slalom this season with a dominant victory in Aspen.
The Swiss superstar has already wrapped up the overall crystal globe for the third year running, and is now mathematically uncatchable in the giant slalom standings.
Odermatt led by 0.12 seconds after the first run in Aspen, with Alexander Steen Olsen in second and Loic Meillard just seven hundredths back.
A time of 1:02.78 on the second run was good enough for sixth best and saw him claim victory by 0.14 seconds from his compatriot Meillard, with Norway's Atle Lie McGrath finishing third.
Odermatt said: "It was probably the hardest day of the season. It was so tough, I don't know why, probably the altitude and the warm temperature.
"It was very tough. I didn't feel good at the start, everything was so slow, not much energy.

"It takes so much energy to always get into this race mood, into this focus. It’s really not easy.
"Right now it looks like [it's] easy but it’s definitely not. Each run is so much work for the mental part. Happy that I still had enough energy to win."
Now, Odermatt will aim to maintain his perfect record in the giant slalom with a second race in Aspen on Saturday before Sunday's slalom.
