Val d’Isère steps up

The races are scheduled to take place on their original dates of January 20 and 21.

"The teams will arrive on Wednesday. Two trainings sessions are expected Thursday and Friday with the downhill on Saturday and the super-combined on Sunday," said men's World Cup director Gunther Hujara.

"There are good snow conditions at Val d'Isère and organisers are very motivated, but there is still a problem with the lodging," Hujara told the AFP.

Val d'Isere lost women's races earlier this season because of warm weather and lack of snow.
