Toth, 35, had previously tested positive in a re-testing of samples from the U.S. nationals while Chambers, the 25-year old European 100m champion was caught based on a sample from an August 1st training session in Sarrebrücken, Germany.
Both athletes train in California near the San Francisco Bay area labratory BALCO that produced THG. The uncovering of the substance has rocked the sporting world and triggered the re-testing of all samples from the Paris worlds.
Britain could now be stripped of silver in the men's 4x100m which would instead go to Brazil, thereby enabling the Netherlands to earn bronze.
News that Chambers could test positive a second time has puzzled experts.
"During competitions, steroids and consequently THG do no good," French specialist Dr. Gérard Dine told l'Equipe.
