Dynamo have called a news conference for Tuesday to present their new coach.
Ivkovic stepped down as CSKA coach after the army club beat Dynamo in the fourth game of the championship finals on June 6 to clinch their third consecutive title.
CSKA appointed Italian Ettore Messina to replace the 61-year-old Serb after blaming him for losing last month's Euroleague finals in Moscow.
CSKA were considered heavy favourites to win their first major European basketball title since 1971 on home soil after posting a remarkable 51-1 win-loss record in all competitions.
But they went down to Final Four newcomers Tau Ceramica of Spain in the semi-finals, then suffered another humiliating defeat by Greece's Panathinaikos in the third-place playoff.
Although he failed to win the Euroleague title in his three years with CSKA, Ivkovic remains one of the most respected coaches in Europe after a string of successes at club and international level.
He led the former Yugoslavia to two Olympic silver medals, a world and three European titles in the last two decades.
Dynamo president Yevgeny Gomelsky said he felt Ivkovic would help them beat CSKA and win their first Russian league title.
