The Golden State Warriors suffered a 141-134 defeat in overtime against the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA on Saturday night, despite Steph Curry scoring 60 points for his team. Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Lakers beat the New York Knicks, who had been on a nine-game winning streak, with LeBron James playing all but a minute of the second half of their comeback win.

A season-high 60 points from Steph Curry could not prevent a 141-134 overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks for the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.
Trae Young led the way for the Hawks, contributing 35 points, while Curry is the 10th player in the NBA to have more than one 60-point game.
"It sucks to not have something to show for it," he said after the defeat which leaves the Warriors, 12th in the Western Conference, with a 21-25 record.
"It's frustrating, obviously, not coming away with the win knowing a couple plays here, a couple plays there could have been a different outcome. It just adds to our frustrating season."
Coach Steve Kerr described his player as “incredible,” but lamented that, "we competed like crazy but just couldn't get over the hump."
Young said he was inspired by coming up against the best.
"They're a lot more fun when you win," he said. "You always want to battle, you always want to compete, you want to show your best off against the best. ... Steph was obviously going in that second half."

Lakers halt Knicks streak

The Los Angeles Lakers ended a nine-game win streak for the New York Knicks with a 113-105 victory.
The Lakers have struggled for much of the second half of the season, but an upset win over the Celtics at the end of last week perhaps said as much about their determination to come back as it did about Boston’s readiness to challenge for a championship.
The Knicks were missing Julius Randle, OG Anunoby and Quentin Grimes, while the Lakers had brought in Rui Hachimura to start ahead of Taurean Prince.
The New Yorkers held an 86-80 lead after three quarters, but the Lakers showed steely defence to ride things out.
Another 19 points from the Knicks allowed the Lakers to take the lead, and after two impressive showings, LeBron James appeared to be more positive than he has been in recent weeks.
"It's great when the Knicks are winning and you get to come in here and play competitive basketball at the highest level," said James, who scored 24 points. "Where every possession means something, especially in the fourth quarter. And to be able to make some plays in the fourth quarter to turn some tides.
"It's something that feels great."
Jalen Brunson, who scored 36 points for the Knicks but struggled in the fourth, said: "I mean, they were just sending two defenders whenever there was any action that was happening.
"I was either trying to get around it or just hitting the roll man to make the play, relocating and finding a way to still be impactful. I think we made good plays throughout the game, just not enough."
In the day's other games, the Brooklyn Nets beat the Philadelphia 76ers 136-121, the Sacramento Kings defeated the Chicago Bulls 123-115, the Cleveland Cavaliers won 117-101 against the San Antonio Spurs with Victor Wembanyama scoring 19 points and grabbing 14 rebounds, and the Dallas Mavericks lost 129-117 to the Milwaukee Bucks.
