Steph Curry stars as Golden State Warriors move above LA Lakers in standings with win over Portland Trail Blazers

The regular season of the NBA is drawing to close with only a handful of matches remaining for the sides chasing the remaining playoff spots. The Golden State Warriors are one of those sides, and they put themselves in a decent position when they defeated the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday evening. Steph Curry was at the heart of the victory as he scored 22 points.

Stephen Curry scored 22 points and eight assists in an impressive performance as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 100-92 on Thursday.
The Warriors’ recent upturn in form has them in contention for the eighth spot in the Western Conference.
Curry also added seven rebounds, and Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins scored 19 and 15 points respectively.
Golden State are up against the Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Lakers as they look to finish as high as they can in the play-in standings. There are just two games left for each side in the regular season.
Portland’s standout player, Deandre Ayton, contributed 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Scoot Henderson had 18 points and 12 assists. The defeat is their 13th in 15 games.
The New Orleans Pelicans beat the Sacramento Kings 135-123, with CJ McCollum and Zion Williams adding 31 points each.
Trey Murphy III scored 27 points as they kept up a one-game advantage over the Phoenix Suns as they look to secure sixth spot and go to the play-offs.
For the Kings, De’Aaron Fox scored 33 points in vain.
The New York Knicks had Jalen Brunson to thank as he scored 39 points in a 118-109 victory over the Boston Celtics.
The win is the third consecutive victory for the Eastern Conference, with the Knicks in third spot, a game behind the Milwaukee Bucks. For the Celtics, it was the second consecutive defeat.
Elsewhere, the Chicago Bulls beat the Detroit Pistons 127-105, and the Utah Jazz edged past the Houston Rockets 124-121.
