Though both missed out on overall titles, Johannes Lochner and Laura Nolte will take home the two-person World Cup titles for the season. Alongside partner Georg Fleischhauer, Lochner sealed a sixth straight win in the two-man event to seal the overall World Cup title after a stunning season for the duo. Nolte claimed the two-woman title alongside Neele Schuten.
Johannes Lochner and Laura Nolte sealed Crystal Globe triumphs after victories in the final two-man and two-woman bobsleigh events of the season in Sigulda, though missed out in the overall competitions.
Alongside partner Georg Fleischhauer, Lochner sealed a sixth straight win in the two-man event to seal the overall World Cup title after a stunning season for the duo.
Lochner and Fleischhauer finished 0.36s ahead of Francesco Friedrich and Thorsten Margis in Sigulda, with Swiss partnership Michael Vogt and Sandro Michel 0.44s back in third.
The two-man title went the way of Lochner but the overall title across all disciplines went the way of Friedrich.
He finished ahead of Lochner, who took overall silver, while Great Britain's Brad Hall took third in the combined standings after a career-best season.
In the women's event, Nolte claimed the two-woman title in what was effectively a shootout for the individual World Cup title.
Nolte and Neele Schuten fended off compatriots Kim Kalicki and Anabel Galander, and American duo Kaillie Humphries with Kaysha Love to claim the gold medal in Latvia.
That victory was enough to see her move from third to first in the combined event standings, usurping Kalicki and Humphries to claim the Crystal Globe for the two-woman competition.
However, Humphries still sealed the combined title, with Nolte in second and Kalicki in third.
