Kim Kalicki and Leonie Fiebig narrowly won two-woman bobsleigh gold at the World Championship in St Moritz. The German pair finished five hundredths of a second ahead of compatriots Lisa Buckwitz and Kira Lipperheide, who took silver. Kaillie Humphries and Kaysha Love of the USA completed the podium by winning bronze.
Kim Kalicki and Leonie Fiebig were crowned world champions by the barest of margins in the two-woman bobsleigh at St Moritz.
Five hundredths of a second was all that separated gold medallists Kalicki and Fiebig from German team-mates Lisa Buckwitz and Kira Lipperheide, who settled for silver.
Buckwitz and Lipperheide led the competition at the halfway stage but lost ground on the third run.
Kalicki said: "The last weeks were exhausting, but we managed it well now. Before the last run it was really tight, but I thought to myself, Kim, just go down normally now, you can do it."
Olympic champion Laura Nolte was beaten to bronze by defending world champion Kaillie Humphries of the USA, who reached the podium with Kaysha Love.
This was Humphries' seventh World Championship medal in the 2-woman event.
