Defending champions Sweden are going in search of their second crown while Switzerland have never won the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships before
Switzerland and Sweden extended their unbeaten starts to the 2024 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships on the fourth day of competition in Oestersund.
Sweden opened up with a comfortable 6-2 victory over the Netherlands before bringing an end to Canada's own winning run with a narrow 6-5 win in the evening session.
It means the team of Isabella and Rasmus Wranaa sit firmly in control of Group B with three matches left to play after Korea defeated the USA 7-5 to leave both teams with two defeats to their name.
Switzerland enjoy a similarly dominant position in Group A after they thrashed Spain 8-1 in their only match on Tuesday.
Briar Schwaller-Huerlimann and Yannick Schwaller required just six ends to wrap up the win and are in pole position to qualify directly for the semi-finals ahead of Italy, who sit second while Japan and Norway look set to battle for third.
Italy strengthened their grip on second with a 9-4 win over Denmark while Norway beat Estonia by the same scoreline and Japan beat Germany 7-5 to move clear of their opponents in the standings.
