Scotland became the first side to reach the knockout stages on Tuesday but Turkey joined them a day later and now know that victory against the defending champions in their final round robin match would see them top the group.
Turkey enter that contest in high spirits following a dramatic win against England and Cakir is confident they can build momentum.
"We are very happy," he said.
"Now we are okay for the group, we are qualified. With the Scotland match tomorrow, maybe we will make first [in group A].
"We were very lucky on the last stone [England came up light]. Maybe if he would have made it, we would have lost, but we are very happy."
Germany sit third in the group following a 6-4 win against Italy but they were beaten 6-1 by Scotland in the evening session.
In Group D, hosts Canada secured their play-off place by defeating Hungary 8-5 – but the biggest result came in the afternoon when New Zealand secured their first win of the week, stunning already-qualified Norway 8-6.
In Group B, Russia ensured they will progress to the play-offs despite losing 5-4 to Finland while Denmark beat the Netherlands 12-5 in Carmille Jensen's 200th international game.
Switzerland sit third after a 10-5 win against the Netherlands and 8-2 win against Australia.
Czech Republic became the first side to qualify from Group C with a handsome 7-4 morning win against Chinese Taipei, although they later lost for the first time this week to Spain.
The Spaniards are now close to qualifying themselves, while France, Sweden and Chinese Taipei battle for third.
