Sir Dave Brailsford will turn his attention to Manchester United after Sir Jim Ratcliffe completed a minority 25% purchase of the club in December. A report from Global Cycling Network states that Brailsford has been instructed to do an audit of the club's football operations, on what looks set to be a big overhaul at Old Trafford. Brailsford has already bid farewell to Ineos Grenadiers staff.

Ten Hag 'on the same page' with Ratcliffe after 'long meeting'

Dave Brailsford has resigned as Ineos Grenadiers team principal in light of Sir Jim Ratcliffe purchasing a minority stake in Manchester United.
The 59-year-old will now turn his attention to football, with Global Cycling Network reporting that Ratcliffe has asked him to undertake an audit of The Red Devils’ football operations.
Brailsford had been the team principal of the cycling team after taking a break from day-to-day operations, and combined the role alongside his overarching position as Ineos’ director of sport.
However, he will now be taking a complete step back from the world of cycling and has already told Ineos Grenadiers' staff and riders of his departure in Mallorca during last month’s training camp.
The Glazer family initially stated their willingness to listen to offers for the club in November 2022, with Ratcliffe facing competition from Qatari businessman Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani, who had a £5 billion bid to purchase the club rejected.
When the deal was completed, Ratcliffe said in a statement on the club website: “We are here for the long term and recognise that a lot of challenges and hard work lie ahead, which we will approach with rigour, professionalism and passion.
"We are committed to working with everyone at the club - the Board, staff, players and fans - to help drive the club forward.

“Our shared ambition is clear: we all want to see Manchester United back where we belong, at the very top of English, European and world football.”
Manchester United are part of an extensive sporting portfolio for Ratcliffe, which includes Ineos Grenadiers - who he bought from Sky UK in 2019 - along with Ligue 1 club OGC Nice, the Mercedes Formula One team and Ben Ainslie's America's Cup sailing team.
Ratcliffe and Brailsford watched their first match at Old Trafford since the minority purchase in Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham on January 14.
