Here's the top 10 today... with Geraint Thomas finishing an impressive eighth place.

Jasper Stuyven roared past Fernando Gaviria to complete the top three behind Greipel and Ferrari. Phew, what a finish that was...

The victory puts Andre Greipel into pink thanks to those 10 bonus seconds - he leads Postlberger by four seconds now on GC.

The big German was shoulder to shoulder with Gaviria before powering clear and eventually winning ahead of Roberto Ferrari of UAE Team Emirates.

Orica-Scott lead out the sprint - but Ewan drops his chain! And Andre Greipel takes the win!

Now Postlberger has a dig under the flamme rouge - but the peloton won't let him do the same thing twice!
1.5km
Orica-Scott now have their train formed for Ewan alongside Greipel's Lotto Soudal train. Just three men in each, with Quick-Step just behind for Gaviria.

Lotto-Soudal on the front with Greipel in third place. Zakarin is about to regain touch with the main pack. Relief for the Russian...

Zakarin is now 11 seconds down so he's almost closed the gap. It's getting fairly hectic now...

The gap is 28 seconds for Zakarin now. BMC have come to the front now alongside Orica-Scott.

It's a Katusha team time trial now as Zakarin is paced back - but they've been joined by a gruppetto and no one else is going to help out. We're still not sure what happened - whether he crashed, punctured or was simply dropped.

Problem for Ilnur Zakarin: the Russian has a mechanical and he has his Katusha-Alpecin team waiting to help pace him back. He could lose some time today...

Bahrain and Orica lead the pack onto the flat. Team Sky are there too, as are LottoNL-Jumbo - they don't want a repeat of yesterday when Kruijswijk lost 13 seconds.

It's bunching back up as we approach the end of this long descent. There's a headwind expected for part of this run-in to the line, but nothing too rum. Greipel vs Ewan, surely? And don't forget Gaviria...
15km
Lukas Postlberger, the pink jersey, is surrounded by Bora team-mates just behind the red armada of Bahrain-Merida. Bonus seconds may make it hard for him to keep the maglia rosa today, but never say never.

Andre Greipel and Caleb Ewan are both correct and present - and they could put on the pink jersey tonight if they win the stage, because of the 10 bonus seconds up for grabs. Meanwhile, Nizzolo trails the pack by 55 seconds so it's unlikely he'll be in contention today. Trek-Segafredo will have to play the card marked Stuyven instead.
20km
Team Sky and Bora-Hansgrohge up with Bahrain-Merida, who have been on the front since the summit of that last climb. They're trying to force a split for their man Nibali, but so far, nothing's giving.
25km
Right, we're over that lump and it's now downhill for the next 15km. It's looking like it will be a bunch sprint finish contested by the big guns, minus a few figures who have been tailed off. That's unless someone had a dig.
28km
The road kicks up again and Nizzolo has been dropped, again. Team Sky have come near the front to make their presence known, but it's still Bahrain Merida doing the pacing in this strung out peloton.
