Hello and welcome along to our live coverage of stage 15 of the Giro d’Italia. Today’s route takes the riders 199km from Valdengo to Bergamo in the foothills of the Alps. After a flat first 150km, the peloton will tackle two back-to-back categorised climbs and then a short and sharp uncategorised climb just before the finish. It should be an exciting finale, with the potential for time gaps – albeit small ones – between the overall contenders.

Five riders have broken away from the peloton, but they have only been given a lead of just over 30 seconds so far. They are Jeremy Roy (FDJ.fr), Jan Barta (Bora-hansgrohe), Moreno Hofland (Lotto Soudal), Dries Devenyns (Quick-Step Floors) and Eugert Zhupa (Wilier Triestina-Selle Italia). Cannondale-Drapac are on the front of the peloton and seem intent to chase the escapees down.

Tom Dumoulin (Team Sunweb) started today's stage with a healthy 2'47" lead over second-placed Nairo Quintana (Movistar) following his impressive win on the summit finish at Oropa on stage 14. Thibaut Pinot (FDJ.fr) is 3'25" down in third overall, while Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida) is 3'40" adrift in fourth.
